Sunset Newlywed Portraits in Texas | Meghan + Taylor

filed in

One of my favorite parts of any wedding day is stepping away with the couple for sunset portraits. It is a short break from the busy pace of the day, and it always ends up being a meaningful moment. With Meghan and Taylor, we stepped outside during their reception just as the sun was going down. They brought their cowboy hats, which added a fun, personal touch. These sunset newlywed portraits in Texas turned out to be some of the most relaxed and memorable photos of the entire day.

A Quiet Moment During the Reception

By the time we went outside, the ceremony and speeches were done, and everyone was enjoying the evening. Meghan looked amazing in her dress and boots, and Taylor’s cowboy hat tied his look together perfectly. They were relaxed, smiling, and happy to have a few minutes just the two of them. That is what I love most about taking sunset portraits during the reception. Couples get a moment to slow down and take in everything that has happened.

The lighting around sunset is always soft and flattering, and we are never in a rush. These short sessions usually feel easy and natural, which helps couples enjoy the process. Meghan and Taylor didn’t need much direction. They were just being themselves, and those little moments made for some of my favorite images from their day.

Taking ten or fifteen minutes for portraits at sunset can make a big difference. The photos are beautiful, and the experience gives couples a break they often didn’t realize they needed. Sunset newlywed portraits in Texas are always worth it, and Meghan and Taylor’s session is a perfect example of why I love them so much.

Kind Words

“Everyone knows that capturing that perfect shot can be stressful to say the least. Not with Katelyn. She makes the entire experience easy, fun and perfect! She has patience beyond belief and and can make an ordinary picture look like a masterpiece! I wouldn’t recommend having anyone else take your photos. She is a master in her craft!”
