Some wedding days feel timeless from the very beginning, and Anika and DeMarco’s wedding at The Homestead was exactly that. Their day blended sleek modern design with an unforgettable party atmosphere. The entire thing was elevated, stylish, and genuinely fun! From the all-black dress code to the candlelit reception space, every detail felt intentional.

The Homestead: A Modern Texas Wedding Venue

Located in Willis, Texas, about an hour from both Houston and College Station, The Homestead is a wedding venue that offers a clean and modern setting that photographs beautifully. As a Texas wedding photographer, I am always drawn to venues that feel thoughtfully designed while still giving couples flexibility to make the space their own. The Homestead definitely does this!

One of the standout features of this venue is the incredible natural light. The large wall of glass windows fills the space with brightness throughout the day, while the white marble floors reflect light beautifully and give the venue an airy, elevated feel. Paired with Anika and DeMarco’s black and white wedding design, the entire day felt so chic.

Anika & DeMarco’s Wedding

Anika and DeMarco fully embraced a modern black and white aesthetic, and it worked perfectly within The Homestead. The bridal party wore all black, including the bridesmaids and flower girl, which created such a striking visual throughout the day. Even the guests arrived dressed in black attire, tying the entire celebration together beautifully.

One of the things I love most about a The Homestead wedding is how seamlessly the venue flows throughout the day. Couples can move from getting ready to ceremony to reception all on one property, which helps everything feel organized and relaxed.

Their reception design was one of my favorite parts of the day. Black table linens paired with baby’s breath and white roses, romantic candlelight, and acrylic ghost chairs created a look that felt modern while still feeling inviting. Against the bright interior of the venue, every detail stood out beautifully.

As the evening began, guests cheered for the couple’s cold sparkler entrance that immediately set the tone for the night. Later, Anika and DeMarco shared their first dance surrounded by low-lying fog before the reception quickly turned into a full dance floor party with light-up foam wands and nonstop energy.

One of my favorite moments from the night happened later during the reception when Anika changed into a short party dress covered in fringe, sequins, and feathers. She paired it with white Crocs, and DeMarco eventually changed into Crocs too. It was the perfect transition from elegant wedding day to unforgettable party.

Insider Tips for a Wedding at The Homestead

Some things I’ve learned as a Homestead wedding photographer:

  • Take advantage of the included portrait session access. Couples receive use of the property for a scheduled bridal or engagement session, which is such a valuable addition.
  • Lean into the venue’s modern aesthetic when planning your design. Clean florals, candlelight, and intentional color palettes work especially well here.
  • If you are planning a larger reception or dance-heavy celebration, this venue handles that atmosphere incredibly well.
