There is something special about engagement sessions that combine meaningful locations, great outfits, and beautiful light. Jaelynn and Zach’s outdoor engagement photos in College Station, TX had all three. From exploring downtown together to ending the evening in an open field at sunset, their session was relaxed and joyful.
As a College Station photographer, I always encourage couples to choose locations and outfits that reflect their personalities. Jaelynn and Zach’s engagement session had the perfect mix of elevated style and laid-back moments.

Starting Their Outdoor Engagement Photos in Downtown College Station
We began the session in downtown College Station, which provided a fun backdrop for the first portion of their engagement photos. The area offers a great mix of architecture, texture, and variety, making it a wonderful option for couples who want something a little different from a traditional nature setting.
Jaelynn’s first outfit was effortlessly chic. She wore a white skirt and matching vest for a polished bridal-inspired look. Zach paired jeans with a blazer, which complemented her outfit perfectly.
One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is simply getting to spend time with my couples before the wedding day. We laughed, explored, and took our time moving through different locations.

A Golden Hour Engagement Session
As the evening continued, we made our way to a nearby green space just as the sun began to lower in the sky. The timing could not have been better.
For their second look, Jaelynn changed into a long white dress, and Zach kept his blazer look. This portion of the session gave us some of the most romantic images of the evening. The soft golden light wrapped around them beautifully and created a dreamy glow.
One of the biggest reasons I recommend scheduling engagement sessions near sunset is because of the light. Golden hour creates a softness that is difficult to replicate at any other time of day and helps photographs feel warm, flattering, and timeless.

Ending the Session with a Casual Look
As golden hour reached its peak, Jaelynn and Zach changed into a third outfit that felt much more casual and relaxed. Both wore jeans and white tops, which was the perfect way to end the evening.
I always love when couples incorporate a casual look into their engagement session. While dressier outfits are beautiful, there is something equally special about photographs that feel like an elevated version of everyday life. Some of my favorite images from the entire session came during this final portion of the evening!

Why Multiple Outfits Work So Well for Engagement Photos
One of the things Jaelynn and Zach did particularly well was choosing outfits that offered variety while still feeling cohesive. Their first look felt polished and modern. Their second look leaned romantic and timeless. Their final look was casual and effortless.
Bringing multiple outfits to your engagement session leads to a gallery with a wider range of images. It also gives you flexibility when choosing photos for save-the-dates, your wedding website, prints, and albums.
