Kylie and Cole’s wedding day was bright, colorful, and full of personality. Their warm palette of blue, pink, and orange brought so much energy to the day, but what stood out most was how much of the celebration centered around their friends and family. Every detail felt like it belonged to them, from the pastel bridesmaid dresses to the childhood photos used as table numbers.

Their wedding at The Weinberg at Wixon Valley was a great reminder that there is no single right way to choose your wedding colors. You can build a palette around the colors you love and let the rest of the design follow. As a Texas wedding photographer, I love seeing couples make those choices for themselves rather than feeling like everything has to follow a specific trend.

Getting Ready With Their Favorite People

The energy was already high while the girls were getting ready together. There was plenty of laughter and excitement as Kylie and her bridesmaids prepared for the ceremony.

Kylie wore a strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline, keeping her bridal look classic while allowing the colorful details throughout the rest of the day to stand out. 

A Colorful Wedding Party

Kylie’s bridesmaids wore long gowns in different pastel shades, creating a colorful bridal party without requiring everyone to wear the same thing. I loved how well the different colors worked together. The dresses felt coordinated without looking overly matched, and the soft shades complemented the warmer tones used throughout the reception.

Cole and his groomsmen took a different approach with their wedding day attire. They wore tan three-piece suits with floral ties that tied right into the colorful palette. The floral pattern added another layer of personality without competing with the bridesmaids’ dresses. Together, the wedding party had a cohesive look while still allowing each side to have its own style.

This is one of my favorite ways to approach wedding colors. Everything does not have to match exactly to feel intentional. Choosing colors that complement each other can create a much more interesting final look.

The Details That Made Their Wedding Feel Like Them

The reception details continued the colorful theme in a way that felt personal rather than overly styled. Pink tapered candles added color to the tables, while flowers brought in shades of blue, pink, and orange. The combination created a warm and inviting atmosphere for dinner.

One of my favorite details was the table numbers. Instead of traditional numbers, Kylie and Cole used black-and-white photos of themselves at the ages represented by each table. It was such a fun way to give guests something personal to look at while also adding a little nostalgia to the reception.

Their three-tier vintage wedding cake was another standout. The classic design fit beautifully with the rest of the day, while the groom’s Aggies cake added a fun personal touch.

And then there were the marquee letters spelling out “The Stewarts.” They became one of the focal points of the reception and added even more personality to the space.

A Colorful Wedding Reception Built for a Party

The reception layout was especially fun. Tables surrounded the dance floor in the center of the room, which kept the energy focused on the party once dancing began. Guests were never far from the action.

The wedding party made their entrance wearing fun light-up cowboy hats, setting the tone for the rest of the night. From there, the dance floor quickly filled up. It was the kind of reception that felt less like a formal event and more like a celebration with all of their favorite people in one room. The colorful design, personal details, and packed dance floor all worked together to create the perfect party.

You Don’t Have to Follow a Wedding Color Formula

One of the things I loved most about Kylie and Cole’s wedding was that their color palette felt like a choice they made because they loved it. There was no need for every detail to be the same shade or for the entire wedding party to match perfectly.

If you’re planning your own wedding, start with the colors you genuinely love. Maybe that means pastel bridesmaid dresses in several different shades. Maybe it means bringing in bright flowers or colorful candles. Your table numbers could feature family photos, or your cake could include a nod to something meaningful to you.

Your wedding does not need to look like anyone else’s. The most memorable celebrations are often the ones where couples give themselves permission to make the day feel personal!
